Here is a tip for finishing chain from @dangbravegirl - “I use this ultra fine #0000 steel wool to remove the excess patina on my sterling chains.
It leaves just the right amount of patina highlights and contrast in the recessed areas while shiny up the surface!
You can tape the end down with painters tape, but I just firmly hold it down on my bench, doing a few inches at a time down the length, moving my hand along as I go to keep control of the chain.” Love this Jaime, thanks for taking the time to send! One note about steel wool is this technique does potentially leave tiny steel particles on your piece so give it a rinse, especially if for any reason the chain ends up back in your pickle pot since those tiny steel bits will contaminate your pickle! 😄 #polishingchain #jewelrymakerofinstagram #jewelrymaker #silversmith #jewelrymakingtechnique
