Here is a super useful tip for casting from @theresaapplegatejewelry -“Here’s a quick way to convert wax weight to metal weight when casting. First you need to the weight of your wax tree, then simply open your Internet browser and search wax to metal calculator. My favorite one is from United PMR. Just type in your wax weight and make sure you have wax selected in the drop-down menu, then from the bottom drop-down menu, select your desired casting metal and click calculate. this tool is also good for converting between metals; for instance, if you have an item that is sterling silver, you could calculate how much 14 karat yellow gold it would take for the same item.
