Here is a bezel tip from @reinsteinross - “When you are making small bezels like I do for several classic @reinsteinross styles, they can be very tricky to hold. There’s also a good chance of the saw blade popping through the seam and into the bezel while sawing, nicking the inside back of the bezel. Also the bezel can go flying away when the bezel and bezel wire are cut through, and (at least for me) a high risk of sawing into my left index finger. This trick solves both problems! I wrap the bezel out of a strip of bezel wire and then place the bezel and bezel strip in the jaws of a parallel jaw pliers and saw right through the overlap. The pliers stop the sawblade from passing through into the back of the bezel, keep the blade away from your fingers, and hold the bezel securely until you release the pliers. Then, if I need to tighten the bezel up a bit, I will close the seam up, put the bezel back in the pliers, and saw throught the seam again. No dropping, nicking, or bleeding! The only drawback to this technique is that it will dull your sawblade pretty quickly. I can usually get 3-4 bezels cut per sawblade before it becomes too dull to use. But I think it’s worth it! “ This is a great technique for those thicker bezels! Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us! #bezelsetting #makingbezels #jewelersbench #benchpin
