Love this tool share from @reinsteinross - “This is one of my very favorite tools, and I am always surprised that it isn’t more well known. At @reinsteinross we don’t cast our jewelry. We alloy our golds in house and then mill and draw it down to the sizes and shapes of sheet and wire we need to fabricate whatever it is we are making. I am constantly using one of these to check the thickness of my metal as I mill it down or draw it out.
This tool (a pearl dial gauge, or a pearl and stone gauge) lets me check the thicknesses of sheet, wire, stones, drill bits, burrs, and whatever else quickly and easily.
