Love this tip from @makeitwithkim - “Did you know many jewellery supply companies show a lot of their stock 'to scale' in their catalogue?
This is so handy and can help you visualise exactly what you are purchasing.
Ordering online can be tricky and people often end up with things that are far bigger or smaller than they thought from reading the written description, so having a 'to scale' reference is incredibly useful.
It's particularly good when you want to hold a pendant against different chain types and sizes, to see which suits your design best.
It's also great for seeing which wire dimension would work best, especially for things like wire dies.
Big jewellery catalogues are also my go-to noise reducers to pop under the steel blocks when students are hammering. It makes such a difference âš’
Companies often advertise free catalogues when you place an order, so if you think one would be useful, keep your eyes peeled on their website 👀 “ Thank you Kim! This is helpful for anyone ordering materials and I love the idea of placing your pendant up against the image of chain to decide on scale!
