Two polishing bits I LOVE from
@gesswein.jewelry that help me get a uniform polish on the inside of a ring. The first is the Premounted Abrasive Rolls this one is 1000 Grit (SKU:1037120) Now I will go ahead and say you can make these yourself or use a split mandrel but for less than $1 I prefer the convienience of this bit! I should also say you I did some additional clean up to my solder seam prior to using the 1000 grit. To finish with a mirror shine I am excited to show off the Mini Mounted Magic Buff (SKU:1076008) The soft inner core of this bit gently cradles the contours of your rings, while the innovative ultra-micro particle (approx. 1000 grit) aluminum oxide abrasive flaps bring your gold, silver and platinum rings to a mirror shine, and without the mess of polishing compound! Yes they are both 1000 grit but the Premounted Abrasive Roll gives more of a matte finish!! Both bits have a 3/32 shank and can be used with your flex shaft or Dremel and I highly recommend for folks who are using those tools to bring their work to a final polish! I also have a big polishing lathe and I find doing the inside of the ring with a flex shaft is a bit more controlled and feels safer!
