This bezel height tip is supported by our sponsor @turquoise_moose all the gorgeous turquoise in today’s video is from them. When working with free form turquoise I like to keep taller bezel strip around that I can then modify to the height I need. When you hold the stone side to side with the bezel wire you want the height to be about 1mm taller than the stones girdle. The girdle is the widest part of the cabochon. This particular wire for those curious is 3/16” (4.78mm) x 24g (.51mm)and it’s sterling silver. I then use my dividers (calipers could work too) to mark where I need to cut. To make the cutting easy I use my Joyce Chen scissors and I err on the side of leaving the bezel a bit taller because I know I can sand it down a bit more later on. I hope this is helpful!
