Here  is  a  tip  to  differentiate  your  needle  files  from  @garry_brisdion  -  “I  was  used  to  get  annoyed  at  picking  up  the  wrong  grade  of  needle  file  whilst  working  at  my  bench  until  I  hit  upon  this  idea.  I  use  different  colours  of  electrical  heat  shrink  tube  to  represent  different  grades  of  file,  in  my  case  red  for  course  (0),  yellow  for  medium  (2)  and  green  for  fine  (4).  I  rarely  use  any  other  grade  so  these  three  colours  work  fine  for  me  although  many  other  colours  are  available.  It’s  very  easy  to  apply.  Simply  cut  off  a  short  length  of  the  tubing,  slide  onto  the  file  handle  and  very  gently  heat  over  a  soft  flame  or  even  use  a  hairdryer  to  shrink  it  tight  on  the  handle.  It  doesn’t  get  in  the  way  at  all  and  certainly  helps  to  easily  identify  the  grade  of  file.
