Here is a tip for securing metal while you saw from @jakejacobs6 -

"Here’s a tip from someone with old eyes who finds tricks to help. I glued some leather on two sizes of clamps to protect the silver and I use them to hold down pieces while I’m sawing. I need to be able to see the line I’m following so this leaves my free hand able to use for using a little brush to keep it clean of filings and blade lube while continuously sawing. "
