Here is a bezel setting tip from @susanfauman (shared awhile back š) - āI love using my graverās ball from GRS to hold a piece when Iām setting stones. When I need to set a stone in a ring with a simple, symmetrical shank, I basically use the graverās ball like a vice. To protect my ring shank I fold some cardboard (a piece of leather also worksāmaybe even better because it gives a little grip) around it. I also leave a bit of cardboard to fold down at the top under the top of the ring to protect it while Iām hammer setting the stone. I use a small chasing hammer and a strip of brass with a shaped and polished end to hammer set because the brass is soft enough to lessen the risk of damage to my stones.ā Some seriously awesome tips here Susan, thank you!! The cardboard is a fabulous idea! We love to share set ups for stonesetting!
